The Vision of our Church

OUR VISION:

...to be a community of believers that exists to
"Know Him and to Make Him Known"

The Vision of Community is based on the principles in

Romans 15; "Now we who are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak and not please ourselves."

This means that each of us is called together to:

Strengthen the weak

Encourage one another

Be patient with others as God has been patient with us

Co-operatively pull together in the same direction

Receive and care for each other

Draw on and depend upon the anointing of the Holy Spirit

OUR MISSION:

in four distinct ways.

WELCOMING Community

Because we have all experienced God’s love and acceptance, we are compelled to make that love known to everyone. God has included us in His family, and we desire to lovingly include people in our lives and in the life of the Church. We will seek to impart the hope that is in Christ.

Our aim is to make Grand Valley a place that people can call home; where they can be safe as they build relationships and grow in the Lord. We appreciate the rich diversity of God’s people.

We are committed to the Lord’s commission to "make disciples" –– to teach, instruct, encourage and see the release of the unique spiritual gifts and ministries in each person’s life.

WORSHIPING Community

We are a people in pursuit of the Glory of God. Worship is not just an activity of our community –– it is who we are. As we come to know God, we express our worship in a Holy Praise to the Lord, totally dependent on the power of the Holy Spirit as He reveals Jesus Christ.

Through passionate ministry, music, singing, the arts, and in every aspect of our daily lives, our aim is to proclaim Him, and make Him our first Priority at all times.

WORD-BASED Community

The Bible has all authority for us today. Our knowledge of God and His will for our lives flows out of the Truth that comes from His written Word.

Our aim is undivided obedience to the word of God. We see this being worked out in solid Biblical teaching and preaching, with openness to the prophetic.

WITNESSING Community

As a church we are committed to sharing the great things that God has done for us in Jesus the Saviour.

We choose to preach, teach and demonstrate this Good News through local outreach and World Missions. Our witness is both by word and actions that reveal Jesus in the daily affairs of our lives, serving the people in our surrounding area by seeking to relevantly respond to their needs.

We are committed to follow Christ’s Commission by supporting and sending missionaries throughout the world.

Through all these things we purpose:
